Come learn how to harness the colors of nature! Prior to the invention of synthetic dyes 170 years ago all fabric was dyed using plants, animals, and minerals. Join us in this fun workshop to learn this ancient technique with modern updates. In this two hour workshop you will learn how to dye fabric using plants like eucalyptus and loquat and everyday foodstuffs like avocado pits and pomegranate peels. Students will also learn techniques to create different dyed patterns. Once you’ve learned the basics in our workshop you’ll begin to see the color possibilities of plants everywhere!
Workshop participants will go home with a set of four beautiful dyed linen napkins.
